A HIGH-RANKING GERMAN PARLIAMENTARY GROUP VISITS THE DUAL STUDY STUDENTS AT THE NATIONAL BEVERAGE COMPANY


A high level German Parliamentary Delegation accompanied by the Dean of the Dual Studies program at Al Quds University, Prof. Dr. Salaheddin Odeh visited the students of the program at the National Beverage Company/Coca-Cola in Ramallah. The visit was also attended by Mr. Emad Al Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company and a number of officials from the German Representation Office in Ramallah, GIZ and the National Beverage Company. The visit of the German Parliamentary Delegation comes in the context of assessing the achievements of the German-Palestinian cooperation in the fields of economic development and education, as well as discussing ways to develop and strengthen this partnership in the future.During the visit, the visiting delegation was given the opportunity to exchange with the university representatives, officials of the national beverage company and students of Dual Studies on their own experiences and futures perspectives of the Dual Study Programme in Palestine.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Salaheddin Odeh briefed the visitors on the program and its achievements, and the mechanisms of its implementation according to the German experience in this field, pointing out that the program has become a role model in Palestine and the region as a whole. Prof. Dr. Odeh thanked the German Government for its support through implementation of this model of higher education through Al-Quds University, hoping that this experience will serve as an incubator for the creativity of Palestinian youth and a platform towards a better future for them.

The delegation also received a detailed presentation by Mr. Emad Al Hindi about the National Beverage Company and its strategic partnership with the Dual Studies program through receiving the students of the program during their practical training phases, and allowing them to benefit from their training opportunities in the National Beverage Company by acquiring practical experience according to international standards as well as enhance their chances in the labour market after graduation.

The visiting parliamentary delegation expressed ,at the end of this visit, its admiration for the real partnership between Al-Quds University and the private sector institutions in Palestine through the Dual Studies program, especially in granting students enrolled in this form of education the opportunity to learn about the labour market needs and structure which enhance their chances in employment after graduation.
