Al-Quds University Launches the First Edition of the 2025 Innovation Award for Dual Studies Students

In a world where the need for education that keeps pace with reality and responds to its challenges is growing, the Innovation Award for Dual Studies Students at Al-Quds University affirms that innovation is not born solely in lecture halls, but is shaped in real work environments and through the everyday challenges faced by institutions and companies.

Al-Quds University launched the first edition of the 2025 Innovation Award as a distinguished platform to celebrate ideas that moved beyond theory and were transformed into practical solutions that made a tangible impact in the workplace. The award was not merely a competition; rather, it served as a space to honor students who, through their graduation projects, demonstrated strong capabilities in critical thinking, innovation, and applied creativity.

The award was distinguished by its exclusive focus on graduation projects developed and implemented within partner companies of the Dual Studies Program. Students worked on addressing real-world challenges and proposing actionable solutions that contributed to improving performance, enhancing processes, and developing innovative tools and methods within the work environment. The participating projects reflected the core essence of the dual studies model, which is built on the genuine integration of academic education and practical training. Students were not passive recipients of knowledge, but active contributors—participating in decision-making, proposing solutions, and being evaluated based on the impact they achieved.

The submitted projects, spanning disciplines such as Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, and Digital Business, underwent a comprehensive evaluation process based on a set of rigorous criteria, including the level of innovation, quality of implementation, organizational impact, and sustainability of the proposed solutions. This process resulted in the selection of five finalist projects that advanced to the final stage of the award.

To highlight these finalist projects, on-site documentation was conducted within the partner companies, focusing on the journey of each project from its initial idea through its development stages to its practical implementation, while showcasing its impact on organizational performance. These experiences revealed students with a high level of professional awareness and an exceptional ability to connect academic knowledge with labor market needs.

This award served as a platform to showcase outstanding student models who successfully transformed their ideas into tangible achievements. At the conclusion of the competition, the winning projects were honored and their creators recognized with financial and honorary awards, within a vision aimed at empowering students, fostering a culture of applied innovation, encouraging thinking beyond traditional frameworks, and motivating students to deliver value-added solutions—thereby strengthening the role of universities as drivers of change and development.
